Mail-In Weld Testing – Materials, Authorization & Returns Policy

Mail-in weld testing packages provided by PennWelding™ Corporation include both physical materials and professional services, including the issuance of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), testing authorization, and evaluation services. To ensure test validity and compliance with AWS D1.1 requirements, the following policies apply.
APPROVED TEST PLATES REQUIREMENT
All weld test coupons submitted for evaluation must be supplied by PennWelding™ Corporation.
- Test plates must be purchased directly from PennWelding™ or one of its authorized divisions
- Plates are identifiable by PennWelding™ markings and/or other verification methods
- Plates fabricated, sourced, or modified outside of PennWelding™ will not be accepted for testing
TESTING AUTHORIZATION & REPLACEMENT PLATES
Each mail-in testing purchase includes one (1) testing authorization, represented by a serialized authorization sticker.
- Authorization stickers may be used only with PennWelding™-supplied test plates
- If a test plate is damaged, scrapped, or not submitted, the testing authorization remains valid
- Customers may submit a replacement test plate purchased from PennWelding™ without repurchasing testing services
- Only one plate may be tested per authorization sticker
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES & DOCUMENTATION (NON-REFUNDABLE)
The following items are non-refundable once issued:
- Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Testing authorization and administrative setup
- Inspection, evaluation, and documentation services
These items constitute professional services and intellectual property and are considered delivered upon issuance.
RETURNS – PHYSICAL TEST PLATES ONLY
Unused and unmodified PennWelding™ test plates may be returned under the following conditions:
- Plates must be in new, unused condition
- A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is required
- Customer is responsible for return shipping
- Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable
- Refunds are issued after inspection of returned materials
Returning a test plate does not cancel or invalidate an issued WPS or testing authorization.
DAMAGED OR LOST SHIPMENTS
If materials are damaged in transit or lost by the carrier, please notify us within five (5) business days of delivery so we can assist with resolution.
