1" Weld Qualification Test Plate for AWS D1.1 Unlimited Thickness with 1/4"x2" Backing Strip

This 1-inch AWS D1.1 unlimited thickness weld test plate is a code-compliant certification coupon designed for welders, schools, and facilities that need a replacement plate for one of our weld testing kits, or who prefer to conduct in-house testing using their own WPS and Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). A successful test on a 1" plate qualifies the welder for unlimited base-metal thickness as permitted by AWS D1.1.

Plates are available unassembled (loose beveled plates and backing strip) or fully fitted, assembled and welded to AWS D1.1 specifications, ready to weld and test upon delivery. This product includes the certification plate only and does not include inspection, testing, or documentation services. Precision-cut, properly beveled, and built specifically for real AWS qualification testing—not practice substitutes.

AWS D1.1 specifies a 1/4" landing gap.  If your desire a different gap and it complies with your WPS, please let us know and we can happily accommodate that for you.  Common options are 1/8", 3/16", or the standard code gap of 1/4" (default).
